BALTIMORE HOUSE/ LOCAL LEAGUE TOURNAMENT RULES
(ROUND ROBIN FORMAT)

1. Tournament rules meet or exceed Ontario Minor Hockey Association regulations. Teams not governed by O.M.H.A. will comply with their own equipment standards.

2. Game will consist of
three (3) ten- (10) minute stop time periods in all divisions.

3. A two (2) minute warm-up will be allowed from the time the ice surface’s doors close.

4. Any team late for the start of the game will be assessed a delay of game penalty. The clock will start after the warm-up.

5. Time-outs are not allowed to be called by any team.

6. At any point in the 3rd period, if one team has a lead of five (5) goals or more, the clock will run straight time. Minor two (2) minute penalties will be three (3) minutes long.  Should the lead be reduced to two (2) goals or less, the clock will revert to stop time.

7. TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
The round robin play will be followed by the finals, which are determined by the teams ranking in their pool. During round robin play one (1) point is assigned for a win, zero (0) points for loss. Games will be played to a win.

At the end of round robin play (three (3) games in four (4)  team format and two games (2) for a six (6) team format pool, should there be a tie in total points won by teams in the same pool, the team to advance to the higher ranking will be determined as follows:
1st - results of previous game played during round robin (head to head, if two teams tied)
2nd - lowest total goals against, and if still tied
3rd - lowest penalty minutes and if still tied
4th - flip of a coin

In a Six (6) team format ( two pools of three teams), the teams in A/B pools with the most points will compete for the “A” Final. The other teams will compete in the “B” and “C” final depending on their qualifying placement.

In a Four (4) team format (one pool of four teams),  the 1st and 2nd ranked teams after the round robin will compete in the "A" Final, while the 3rd and 4th ranked teams will compete in the "B" Final.

OVERTIME PROCEDURE:

All tied games will be decided by a “shoot-out”. Coaches will list the first three- (3) players to participate in the shoot-out by numbering them one (1) through three (3) on the game sheet prior to the commencement of the game. Coaches should check the list for that order prior to signing the game sheet. Shoot-outs will take place simultaneously from centre ice to each end of the ice. Goal tender cannot be changed during the shoot-out period, unless injured. Each team will provide the first three (3) names as numbered on their game sheet for the initial shoot-out. Should the score remain tied after the first three (3) players form each team have shot, the shoot-out will continue in a sudden death format (one shooter scores, the other does not, the scoring team wins) continuing down the remaining player’s list for each team. If a team with fewer players exhausts their player limit returning to their first (1st) shooter, the opposing coach then has the option of doing the same.  A player serving a penalty at the end of the 3rd period will not be eligible to participate in the shoot-out.

8. PLAYER EJECTION:
- 4 penalties in one game, ejected for the game only (double minor = one penalty)
- Game misconduct (GM) in 3rd period, also suspended from next tournament game
- Fighting (GM), ejected from that game and next tournament game
- Gross misconduct (GM) or match penalty (MP) ejection from tournament
- Damage to facilities or unacceptable conduct between games, ejection from tournament

9. COACHING STAFF EJECTION:
- Game misconduct, ejected from that game and the next tournament game
- Gross misconduct or match penalty, ejected from tournament
- Damage to facilities or unacceptable conduct between games, ejected from the tournament

10. Each team is to provide an adult to supervise their penalty box during the game.

11. Home team shall be designated as per schedule of tournament, and whenever possible, wear white or lighter coloured  sweater.

12.  THIS IS A FELLOWSHIP TOURNAMENT!!!  Any player, parent, or member of the coaching staff WILL be ejected (as may the entire team) from the tournament for ANY act of unsportsmanlike conduct, with no refund.

13. DECISIONS OF THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE ARE FINAL.
